Yuppiechef opens new store at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront

Yuppiechef has expanded its physical retail presence with the opening of a new store at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. This marks the brand’s third brick-and-mortar outlet, following the launch of its Tygervalley and Gardens stores over the past year.

The new store maintains the same industrial design aesthetic seen in previous locations, incorporating elements such as engineered quartz countertops and high-quality wooden panelling. According to the company, these features aim to create a functional and approachable shopping environment.

One operational feature of the new store is its “no queue” point-of-sale system, allowing customers to complete purchases from anywhere in the store with assistance from staff members.

The store launch is considered part of Yuppiechef’s broader move toward an omnichannel retail strategy, offering customers the choice to engage both online and in-person. CEO and co-founder Andrew Smith stated that the store at the V&A Waterfront represents a further step in this approach, enabling more flexible shopping experiences.

The design process for the store also included the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology. Yuppiechef’s team utilized VR simulations to walk through and adjust the store layout before construction began.

The Yuppiechef V&A Waterfront store is located at Shop 6195 on the Ground Floor.
